When immigration officials (ICE) arrive at the Díaz family home in Los Angeles, California, during Thanksgiving, they arrest the mother, Marisol, for not having papers to prove her stay in the United States, and then the eldest son, Koke, who is deported to Mexico. The father, Jorge, has lost his special permit (TPS) and takes refuge in a synagogue. The two American children, Emiliano and Valentina, immediately start looking for a way to reunite the family. Meanwhile, Koke survives as he can in a country where he was born but does not know.  Along the way, each member of the family discovers unexpected surprises of love and faith.
